Here is a piece I've been working on here and there this past spring. It's inspired by storms over water...but the kind where the light is diffused with color behind the storm. Trying to capture how it feels when things are grey and moody in the weather, but there's a brightness or color behind it all, like you know the storm will blow over soon and it will be a most spectacular sunset.... It is made from a back layer of muslin, middle layers of cotton gauze and silk charmeuse, and the bottom of the top layer is a piece of my handwoven linen and silk. They've been shibori dye and dye painted so far. Still a lot of process to go, but I am happy with the results so far.
