Working directly with Clients, Art Consultants, and Designers to create an original piece of art just for them is one of the most exciting and rewarding things for both the artist, and for the individual commissioning a special piece of original artwork.
The Commission process begins with an initial consultation. This allows the client(s) to present the project, as well as get ideas and feedback from the artist. Thoughts on size, theme, materials, colors and the overall feeling of the work; and details about the space the artwork will be placed are discussed. Once all the details are determined, an estimate for the project is given. An initial deposit allows the artist to purchase materials and begin working on the piece. Karen has experience with Clients who prefer to see sketches and color and/or technique samples for guidance throughout the process, as well as with other Clients who enjoy a more open-ended approach. Over twenty+ years of working with dyes & fabrics, along with her experience as a Textile Designer, enable her to match colors with great skill. Each project varies. Karen's experiences have had her working closely with Clients, visiting the space where the artwork will hang, or working long distance via email, phone and mail to achieve successful results. Please contact Karen to discuss your ideas for a commissioned piece of art. |
